Definition:
A tracking study is a quantitative research methodology that collects data on consistent measures at regular intervals, whether weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually, so that trends become visible and statistically meaningful over time. Unlike a one-off survey, a tracking study is designed from the outset for longitudinal comparison, with standardised questions, consistent sampling criteria, and wave-over-wave benchmarks. In brand tracking, this typically means monitoring awareness, consideration, preference, and net promoter scores across a defined audience. The real value of a tracking study is not any single wave but the pattern across waves, which reveals whether a campaign lifted consideration, whether a product launch shifted perception, or whether a competitor is gaining ground.
How Conveo Does It
Conveo supports tracking studies through Storylines, its continuous research programme, which runs in structured waves and connects findings across each one. Teams can launch a new wave in under 30 minutes and receive results within days, not weeks. AI-moderated video interviews run at enterprise scale across 50 or more markets and languages, with every insight traced back to a real participant who said it, supported by verbatim quotes and video. Nothing is synthetic, and nothing gets researched twice.
