A scheduled output saves instructions for a report or quote reel and generates new versions on a recurring schedule. Use it for a weekly stakeholder update, a rolling review of recent chapters, or a recurring reel of participant feedback. You need edit access to the Storyline’s underlying study to add or change an output. Readers can review outputs they have access to.

Add an output

  1. Open the Storyline’s Outputs and choose Schedule in the output composer.
  2. Select Add output. Choose an available template or Add custom output.
  3. Set When it runs and What data each run covers.
  4. Add custom instructions, such as the intended audience or terminology to use.
  5. Configure any available slide-deck, reference-document, and notification options, then save.
Reports can optionally generate a slide deck through Also generate a slide deck. A standalone scheduled deck is not offered in the template picker. Use the report’s option when you want both formats.

Choose a schedule

These are generation triggers, not delivery deadlines. Outputs take additional time to finish. A custom chapter-triggered output can start while other chapter analysis is still running; do not assume every derived finding is ready at the instant the reporting window closes.

Choose the data window

A chapter is a reporting wave. The data-window options select periods whose reporting windows have ended; the current open period is excluded. Since the last run is not a catch-up mechanism for new data added to an older chapter. To cover a historical correction, choose a window that includes the affected period and generate again. For an on-demand run using The trigger chapter only, Conveo uses the most recent chapter whose window has ended. If none exists, generation cannot proceed with that scope.

Instructions and reference documents

Custom instructions apply each time the output runs. Be explicit about the audience, the questions to answer, and any required terminology. Review the actual findings and limitations before sharing generated content. When Reference document is available, upload a PDF up to 10 MB to guide style and structure. A reference is guidance for the AI, not a guarantee that the output will reproduce the document’s layout. This reference upload is separate from adding interview data to the program.

Notify report readers

Use Notify when ready to choose organization members for report-ready emails. Email is sent only to selected recipients who still have access to the study and have report notifications enabled. Selecting someone does not grant access. Leave the recipient list empty to send no email. The email contains a link to the access-controlled report, not the report’s contents. Do not assume notification support for a report also applies to every reel output.

Pause, run, or remove an output

Open an output’s settings to change its instructions or scope and choose Save changes. Existing generated content is not rewritten just by saving a setting.
  • Pause skips automatic generation while keeping the setup. Resume before using Generate now; disabled outputs cannot be generated manually.
  • Generate now starts an eligible custom output without waiting for its schedule. Manual runs are limited to one per output every five minutes.
  • Recent runs shows generation history and status. Check the run status if an expected output is missing.
  • Deleting a custom schedule removes that saved setup. Use pause when you want to keep its configuration for later.
Ended programs and deleted studies do not continue scheduled generation.

The default chapter report

The default chapter report is managed by the program’s analysis. Its cadence and data scope are fixed, and it cannot be paused, deleted, or manually generated from the schedule controls. Use its editable settings for available instructions and report recipients. For a different schedule or data window, add a custom output. Read Reports, Slides, and Quote reels for reviewing and sharing the generated content.
